Wassif Jaleel, acting president of the Tunisian Football Federation, stated in an interview with Diwan FM on Saturday, May 11th, that FIFA held a virtual meeting on Friday with the Minister of Youth and Sports and the election and appeal committees at the federation to discuss the current situation.
Jaleel emphasized that FIFA would decide on the next steps for the future of the Tunisian Football Federation after the FIFA Congress next week, indicating that he would continue to manage the daily affairs of the organization until FIFA’s vision is clarified.
He also noted that the federation would continue its regular operations in the coming period, especially as the sports season in all departments has reached a critical juncture.
Additionally, the national team is preparing for two important matches less than a month from now in the World Cup qualifiers, which necessitates continuing to manage Tunisian football’s affairs effectively.
Jaleel concluded his statement by affirming that his list, which was rejected, would not resort to legal action, emphasizing his respect for the decisions of the Tunisian Football Federation’s structures.
