Walid Regragui receives boost as Abdessamad Ezzalzouli returns to Real Betis training
Moroccan national team coach Walid Regragui has received a welcome boost with the return of star winger Abdessamad Ezzalzouli to training at Real Betis after a nearly three-month absence.
Ezzalzouli, who last featured in the Europa Conference League final against Chelsea in May, had missed his club’s preseason preparations and Morocco’s recent fixtures due to a lingering ankle injury.
The severity of the injury had raised concerns over a possible surgical intervention, fueling fears that he could miss the Africa Cup of Nations later this year.
Regragui, who has often relied on Ezzalzouli’s pace and creativity in Morocco’s attack, can now breathe easier.
The winger has completed his rehabilitation and is set to return to competitive action.
Ezzalzouli’s injury had ruled him out of the Atlas Lions’ Matchday 7 and 8 clashes in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Niger and Zambia.
