Walid Regragui eyes historic 12th straight win as Morocco faces Benin in friendly tonight
Morocco head coach Walid Regragui is on the brink of making history as his team prepares to face Benin in a friendly match this Monday evening at the Grand Stade de Fez.
The Atlas Lions are riding high after a convincing 2-0 victory over Tunisia last Friday, continuing their impressive run under Regragui’s leadership.
Since taking charge three years ago, Regragui has guided Morocco to an outstanding string of results.
A win against Benin would mark his 12th consecutive victory, setting a new record and surpassing the previous benchmark of 11 straight wins held jointly with former coach Vahid Halilhodzic of Bosnia.
Morocco has been in dominant form since their last draw — a friendly against Mauritania in March 2024.
The team has not only won every match since but also swept through the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with a perfect record: six wins and 26 goals scored.
