The head coach of the Moroccan national team, acknowledges the formidable challenges of competing in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Morocco is set to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11, facing tough competition on the continent.
The Moroccan national team has only secured victory in the Africa Cup of Nations once, in the 1976 edition held in Ethiopia.
Regragui shared his insights in an interview with Canal Plus, stating, “The AFCON competitions are more challenging than the World Cup because the Africa Cup is more complex than the World Cup.”
Having experienced both African Cup competitions as a player and an assistant coach, Regragui understands the difficulty of continental competitions.
“This is not an excuse to talk about any potential failure, but it is the reality, as everyone knows the difference between the conditions in Europe and Africa,” he added.
Regragui emphasized the necessity to fight and play with a high spirit, being prepared for unexpected surprises.
“We are ready to face all scenarios and compete for the African title to delight the Moroccan fans,” he concluded.
