Wahbi Khazri’s desire to join AS Saint-Étienne has hit a roadblock as the club’s leaders have abandoned the pursuit of the Bastia player. Instead, the Tunisian international is now looking towards Italy as his potential destination, crossing the Alps to Serie A.
Reports suggest that Sassuolo, the newly promoted Italian team, is already showing interest in the midfielder. However, AS Roma, under the new coach Rudi Garcia, seems to be particularly keen on securing Khazri’s services. There are indications that Roma might explore the option of acquiring a portion of Khazri’s contractual rights to bring him to the club for the upcoming season.
Although an exit voucher for Khazri was initially granted by Bastia for €900,000, the potential move to Saint-Étienne, valued at around €2 million, fell through due to payment term complications. Eager to leave the Corsican club, Khazri is now considering a move to Serie A to test his luck in Italian football.
