Nigeria’s Super Falcons will step up preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations when they open a nine-day training camp in Morocco on July 15 ahead of the continental tournament.

The camp, which will be held in Mohammedia, marks the final phase of the Super Falcons’ build-up before the competition kicks off from July 25 to August 16.

Nigeria will head into the tournament with the ambition of successfully defending their continental title, while also chasing qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, which is at stake during the competition.

Head coach Justine Madugu is expected to unveil his final 24-player squad before the team departs for Morocco, with several players competing for places in the squad.

The Super Falcons have been drawn in Group C and will begin their campaign against Malawi women’s national football team on July 28 at the Al Madina Stadium.

They will then face Zambia women’s national football team on August 1 before concluding the group stage against Egypt women’s national football team on August 5 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Olympic Stadium.

With the countdown to WAFCON 2026 entering its final stages, the Moroccan training camp is expected to play a crucial role in fine-tuning tactics, improving match fitness and helping the coaching staff settle on the squad that will carry Nigeria’s hopes of lifting another continental title.
