Massimiliano Allegri under pressure at Napoli after third straight defeat

Massimiliano Allegri’s position as Napoli manager is under threat after the club suffered a third consecutive defeat in all competitions, according to Calciomercato.

Napoli were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in the Champions League, leaving Allegri facing growing uncertainty over his future.

Calciomercato reports that the former Fiorentina manager Raffaele Palladino is the leading candidate to replace Allegri if Napoli decide to make a change.

The defeat by Arsenal is Napoli’s longest losing run since Walter Mazzarri was in charge in 2023. The Italian side have lost three of their first four matches this season, their worst start since the 2000-01 campaign.

Arsenal secured victory with a powerful strike from Martin Odegaard in the 75th minute, which flew past the Napoli goalkeeper.
