Former Egyptian national team player and assistant coach under Portuguese tactician Carlos Queiroz, Wael Gomaa, has revealed that the latter will bring a lot to Algeria if appointed as the new coach of the national team, succeeding former national coach Djamel Belmadi.
Speaking to “Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed” website on Tuesday, Wael Gomaa stated, “Coach Queiroz played a pivotal role in discovering many young players when he was coaching the Egyptian national team.”
He added, “Queiroz enjoys working with young players, and given his strong personality, he will provide opportunities for young talents without any hesitation, similar to what happened with Ahmed Hegazi, who became a cornerstone in both Egypt’s national team and Al Ahly.”
Concluding his remarks, Wael Gomaa expressed optimism about Queiroz’s potential contribution to the Algerian national team, which boasts a fantastic group of young players.
