The Hespress reporter, covering the match in the eastern region of the Kingdom, found himself subjected to a vicious assault by players and staff of the Abu Salim team immediately after the game.
The attack unfolded while the journalist was documenting an altercation between Abu Salim players and the match referee.
In a shocking turn of events, the journalist became the target of aggression as players and staff from Abu Salim turned their aggression towards him, obstructing him from carrying out his duties.
The conclusion of the match was marred by significant acts of misconduct from players and officials of the Libyan team.
They launched an aggressive protest against the match officiating crew, led by Egyptian referee Mohamed Maarouf, following the conceding of a decisive goal in the dying moments of the game.
