Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior is set to sign a new long-term contract with the club following the conclusion of the FIFA Club World Cup, according to Spanish outlet AS.
The Brazilian international, who is of Cameroonian heritage , has already agreed terms with the La Liga giants.
However, formalities will be completed only after the global tournament, as Madrid continue preparations for the new season with key squad pieces being locked in.
Vinicius’ new deal will see him earn a total of €100 million over five seasons, a figure that could rise significantly based on performance-based clauses.
These include individual honours such as the Ballon d’Or or FIFA’s The Best Award, as well as goal-scoring milestones.
Once signed, the agreement will make Vinicius the highest-paid player in the Madrid squad, overtaking newly signed Kylian Mbappé in annual base salary.
Although Mbappé receives €15 million per season, his earnings are further boosted by a substantial signing bonus secured through his free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.
The new contract will be the third extension signed by Vinicius since his arrival from Flamengo in 2018.
It reflects his central role in the club’s project and their commitment to building around him in the coming years.
The duration of the contract will see the 24-year-old tied to the Santiago Bernabéu until 2030, placing him among the club’s longest-serving players on paper.
Only Trent Alexander-Arnold, who recently joined from Liverpool and is contracted until 2031, has a longer deal.
Others on similar terms include Dutch defender Dean Huijsen and teenage Brazilian forward Endrick.
