Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior is reportedly nearing a contract extension that would keep him at the club until 2030.
Despite receiving a lucrative offer from the Saudi Pro League, the Brazilian international of Cameroonian descent has chosen to continue his career with Los Blancos.
Vinícius has been a standout performer for Real Madrid since joining from Flamengo in 2018. His dynamic play has been instrumental in the club’s recent domestic and European successes.
The proposed extension would see his current contract, which runs until 2027, extended by an additional three years.
It is expected to include a substantial salary increase that would position Vinícius as the club’s top earner, ahead of star teammates Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham.
“They tell me that Vinícius Jr. is very close to renewing with Real Madrid,” said Okdiario’s chief pundit Eduardo Inda.
“The player has a contract until 2027 and it would be extended for three more years, until 2030. He would stay until 30 years old at Real Madrid. They are negotiating and close to reaching an agreement.”
Inda added, “It may be announced when the season is over. The renewal would imply that he would earn more base salary than Mbappé and Bellingham.”
Despite the eye-watering €1 billion offer from Saudi Arabia, Vinícius appears committed to staying with the club he has helped reach new heights.
The renewal, once confirmed, would be a major boost for Real Madrid as they continue building a squad capable of sustained success.
