Brazilian forward of Cameroonian descent, Vinícius Júnior, is reportedly considering a move to the Saudi Pro League, despite his recent declarations of commitment to Real Madrid.
The 24-year-old, who has been instrumental in Real Madrid’s success since joining in 2018, has been offered a five-year contract worth €1 billion by Saudi clubs, according to reports from Sports Mole.
This unprecedented offer would make Vinícius one of the highest-paid athletes globally, with an annual salary of €200 million.
“In this Vinicius double band game with Real Madrid and Arabia, he has made the Saudis see that he would only be there for two or three years because he would like to return to Europe and succeed again,” OkDiario’s chief pundit Eduardo Inda said, when speaking on El Chiringuito.
“Arabia wants to have him on a five-year contract.”
The proposal also includes a role as an ambassador for Saudi Arabia’s 2034 World Cup bid.
The Saudi Pro League’s CEO, Omar Mugharbel, expressed confidence in securing Vinícius’s transfer, stating that it’s “not a question of dream, but a question of time, and of negotiation.”
However, Vinícius has publicly expressed his desire to continue with Real Madrid. In a recent press conference, he stated, “I hope I can renew as soon as possible, I am happy here.”
