Vincentia Enyonam Amedome handed key role for Malawi-Zambia Women’s AFCON tie

Vincentia Enyonam Amedome will take charge of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations meeting between Malawi and Zambia on 5 August 2026, adding another prominent continental appointment to the record of Togolese refereeing.

The Togo official has been selected as the central referee for the highly anticipated match, which is scheduled to kick off at 21:00 at Rabat-Al Madina Stadium in Morocco. The fixture is described as a decisive encounter in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Amedome’s appointment places her at the centre of one of the tournament’s key matches. She will be responsible for overseeing the contest and ensuring that the laws of the game are applied fairly throughout the meeting between the two sides.

Nafissatou Yekini Shitou of Benin and Maneo Evodia Tau of South Africa have been appointed as the assistant referees. Their role will be to support the central referee during the match, while Nigerian official Eunice Akintoye Yemisi Eunice will serve as the fourth referee.

The appointments mean that four nationalities will be represented among the match officials for the Malawi-Zambia fixture. Amedome will lead the team from the middle, with Shitou and Tau providing assistance from the touchlines and Akintoye Yemisi Eunice completing the matchday officiating group as fourth referee.
