Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has raised some eyebrows within the club’s camp during the FIFA Club World Cup, particularly in his treatment of promising Moroccan left-back Adam Aznou.
Aznou, who recently turned 19, is regarded as one of the brightest young talents at the Bavarian club.
However, despite the absence of Alphonso Davies due to a long-term injury and the recent dip in form of Raphael Guerreiro, Aznou was only given eight minutes of playing time — and that came in the match against minnows Auckland City.
According to Sport1, this limited role has sparked surprise within the squad and among observers.
The German outlet also reports that Aznou is growing increasingly frustrated with his situation, especially after making three international appearances for Morocco and receiving earlier indications from Kompany that he would have a chance with the senior team.
Although Aznou is under contract with Bayern until the summer of 2027, his future at the club appears uncertain.
Several Spanish clubs are reportedly monitoring his situation closely, and a move away from Munich cannot be ruled out — even if Bayern have yet to officially list him on the transfer market.
