French forward of Ivorian descent, Desire Doue, was on target for PSG on Wednesday, helping the team to secure a 3-1 comeback win against Aston Villa in the Uefa Champions League.
The talented teenager started for the Parisians in the first leg encounter of their quarter-final tie and not only scored but put up an outstanding performance.
Aston Villa took a surprise lead in the 35th minute when Youri Tielemans delivered a precise pass to Morgan Rogers, who calmly slotted the ball home from close range to make it 1-0.
Just four minutes later, PSG responded through Doué. The 19-year-old forward unleashed a thunderous strike from the edge of the box after a neat pass from Nuno Mendes, sending the ball soaring into the top right corner and leaving goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez rooted to the spot.
PSG carried that momentum into the second half. In the 49th minute, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia dazzled with a solo run and capped it with a brilliant finish that ricocheted off the post and into the net, putting the hosts 2-1 ahead.
The icing on the cake came deep into stoppage time when Nuno Mendes, who had already provided an assist, sealed the win with a powerful effort under the crossbar after a determined solo run.
The win gives PSG a good advantage heading into the second leg of the tie in England next week.
