The potential transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli to Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal has taken an unexpected twist, leaving fans of Al-Zaeem in suspense.
Initial reports suggested that Al Hilal had reached a preliminary agreement with Osimhen, aiming to secure his services during the upcoming summer transfer window ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
However, Turkish outlet Fanatik cited Buchi Laba, a close confidant of the Super Eagles forward, who dismissed the reports as unfounded. “The rumours circulating about his agreement with Al Hilal are baseless,” Laba was quoted as saying.
In contrast, Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadh reported that Al Hilal had already settled all financial aspects of the proposed deal, including a willingness to activate the €75 million release clause in Osimhen’s Napoli contract.
According to Al-Riyadh, Al Hilal has prepared a lucrative three-year deal for the Nigerian international, positioning him as a key addition for their Club World Cup campaign in 2025.
As of now, the situation remains unclear, with conflicting narratives emerging from sources close to the player and Saudi media.
Al Hilal supporters continue to await official confirmation regarding one of the club’s top transfer targets for the upcoming season.
Osimhen spent the season on loan playing at Galatasaray, where he was instrumental in their league success.
