Victor Osimhen has reportedly inked a new contract, committing to Napoli until 2026. The prolific striker, valued at £112 million, has been a sought-after target for Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea. However, the latest Italian reports suggest that Osimhen has opted to extend his stay with Napoli, the reigning champions of Serie A from the 2022-23 season.

Originally under contract with Napoli until 2025, the 24-year-old Nigerian international has decided to prolong his association with the Italian club.

According to insights from Sky Sports in Italy, the extended deal includes a release clause estimated to be within the range of €120-130 million (£104m-£113m).

Victor Osimhen’s impact on Napoli’s recent success cannot be understated. Since joining the club in 2020, he has featured in 95 matches, playing a pivotal role in their triumphant campaign that clinched the Serie A title for the 2022-23 season.

The decision to extend the contract comes at a time when Arsenal and Chelsea, both English Premier League powerhouses, had expressed keen interest in acquiring Osimhen’s services.

The striker’s impressive performances and goal-scoring prowess had made him a prime target for the Premier League clubs, fueling speculation about a potential move.

The contractual extension now places Osimhen firmly within Napoli’s plans for the foreseeable future, reinforcing their frontline with a player who has proven instrumental in their recent domestic success.

As the transfer window dynamics continue to evolve, this development marks a crucial chapter in the ongoing narrative of player movements and strategic decisions across European football.
