Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has been a key figure for Bayer Leverkusen since his arrival in summer 2023, quickly becoming the team’s primary attacking force.
Despite Leverkusen extending his contract in January, a sudden development has put his future in doubt.
Reports confirm that Boniface is in talks with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, who have launched a strong bid for the striker. As a result, the Nigerian forward missed Leverkusen’s final training session ahead of their Champions League clash with Sparta Prague and will not feature in the match.
Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg revealed that Leverkusen decided to give Boniface space for the ongoing negotiations. The German club is reportedly keen to avoid disrupting the deal, as the most critical aspects of the transfer are already agreed upon, with only signatures pending. This move signals a major step for the striker as he prepares for a new chapter in his career.
