Victor Adeboyejo: Free-agent Nigeria-England striker linked with FC Thun move

Nigeria-England centre-forward Victor Adeboyejo, currently a free agent after leaving Mansfield Town, is being linked with a move to Swiss Super League side FC Thun.

The 28-year-old, born in Ibadan and listed at 1.78m, has been without a club since 1 July 2026, when his contract with Mansfield expired and he was registered as Without Club. Transfermarkt currently values him at around 400,000, and the rumour of a switch to Thun was logged on 3 July with no firm probability attached.

Adeboyejo, who holds both Nigerian and English nationality, spent the second half of the 2025-26 campaign at Mansfield after joining from Bolton Wanderers in January 2026. His most recent competitive outing came for Mansfield in Englands lower leagues, where he featured as a central striker before his deal ran down at the end of the season. No transfer fee was involved in his departure, underlining his status as a potential low-cost free-agent option for Thun.

The forward has built a career across the English pyramid, having previously represented Bolton, Burton Albion and Barnsley in the Football League following spells with Leyton Orient and a series of loans at non-league sides including Dulwich Hamlet, Margate, Soham Town Rangers, Royston Town, Heybridge Swifts and Hemel Hempstead Town. His market value peaked at about 850,000 during his time at Bolton in 2024 before sliding to its current 400,000 mark during his stint with Mansfield.

While there has been no indication yet of contract terms or the likelihood of agreement, a move to Thun would give Adeboyejo a first taste of top-flight Swiss football and a chance to re-establish himself in a new environment at a stage of his career where stability and regular minutes are likely to be decisive.
