Emmanuel Sabbi is set for a new adventure in Major League Soccer as the Vancouver Whitecaps have agreed on a transfer with Le Havre AC for the 27-year-old winger.
The French club will receive a fee slightly exceeding €1 million for the American international.
Born in Schio, Italy, to Ghanaian parents, Sabbi grew up in the United States and honed his skills at Ohio Premier Soccer Club in Columbus. He represented the U.S. at the senior level, eventually making his mark in European football. Sabbi joined Le Havre from Danish club Odense Boldklub in 2023 for a similar transfer fee and quickly became a regular starter, making 33 appearances, scoring five goals, and assisting once.
However, with the arrival of new head coach Didier Digard, Sabbi’s role has diminished, as he has struggled to break into the starting lineup, with limited appearances off the bench. Despite his reduced involvement, the Whitecaps have shown confidence in the winger’s potential, bringing him to MLS for the next chapter of his career.
