Valenciennes has completed another exciting addition to their attacking lineup with the loan acquisition of French-Ghanaian winger Stredair Appuah from Palermo.
The 20-year-old arrives with plenty of potential, capable of playing on both wings and offering versatility to coach Vincent Hognon’s tactics.
After progressing through the PSG academy and making a name for himself at FC Nantes, Appuah was signed by Palermo for €1.5 million last summer. However, his limited appearances in Serie B (just four matches) have prompted him to seek more playing time at Valenciennes.
Ben Chorley, the club’s sporting director, expressed his satisfaction with the signing: “We continue to strengthen our Mercato team with this fourth arrival. Streda is a player we have been following for a long time. Being able to speak with him about the project was very important. The professional structure we have implemented allowed us to work with Palermo to finalize the loan. The coach was looking for a large, fast, strong player with excellent capacities in one. Streda corresponds to this profile. We are very happy to have him.”
Appuah, born in Paris, is excited to make his mark in the French second division.
