The events trace back to September 14, when Valenciennes faced AS Saint-Etienne at home during the 5th day of Ligue 1 (resulting in a 1-3 loss). Eloge Enza-Yamissi, the Franco-Central African midfielder from Valenciennes, was found guilty of a deliberate foul on Fabien Lemoine, a player from Saint-Etienne.
Following a review of the match by the referee, the Disciplinary Commission of the League made the decision to penalize Enza-Yamissi. As a result, the Valenciennes player received a two-match suspension, effective from October 15.
Consequently, the former Troyes player will be absent from the match against Stade Rennais on Saturday, October 19, as part of the 10th day of Ligue 1. Additionally, he won’t be able to participate in the game against Evian Thonon-Gaillard on Saturday, October 26, during the 11th day.
It’s worth noting that Eloge Enza-Yamissi had previously attracted attention for engaging in heated arguments with his coach during a video session before the match against PSG (resulting in a 0-1 loss) on the 7th day.
