Valencia are reportedly turning their attention to Leicester City striker Patson Daka after talks to bring Umar Sadiq back from Real Sociedad stalled.
According to Radio Valencia Cadena SER, the Zambian international has emerged as an alternative option for the La Liga side after negotiations over Sadiq’s return failed to progress.
Valencia chief Ron Gourlay had offered €500,000 to take Sadiq on loan with an option to buy, but the proposal fell far short of Real Sociedad’s valuation, forcing the club to consider other options in the transfer market.
Coach Carlos Corberan had prioritized the return of Sadiq, believing the striker would better fit Valencia’s tactical setup and attacking strategy.
However, with an agreement proving elusive, Corberan is reportedly willing to compromise and pursue Daka if a deal for Sadiq cannot be finalized before the end of the window.
The move for Daka would provide Valencia with an experienced, physically dynamic striker capable of leading the line and contributing goals, while also giving Corberan flexibility in attack.
Sources suggest that the club is exploring the financial and logistical aspects of the potential transfer, although no official offer has yet been confirmed.
Valencia are also actively seeking reinforcements at the back, with Corberan eager to sign a centre-back this month to strengthen the defensive line.
The club’s transfer strategy appears focused on balancing immediate needs with long-term squad planning, as they aim to improve their league standing while preparing for next season.
