Utrecht monitor Marseille winger Tadjidine Mmadi in potential bargain move
Dutch side Utrecht are being linked with a move for France-Comoros left winger Tadjidine Mmadi, who currently plays for Marseille B, in what could become a low-cost deal for the Eredivisie club.
The 19-year-old, born in Marseille and standing at 1.80m, is listed with a market value of €800,000, according to Transfermarkt, with reports suggesting Utrecht are exploring whether a deal can be struck this summer. The move remains firmly in the rumour stage, with the reported probability marked only as “?”, and no agreement yet in place between the clubs.
Mmadi’s contract situation at Marseille B is unclear, with no expiry date listed, fuelling suggestions that the teenager could be allowed to leave or even approach free-agent status in the near future if terms are not clarified. That uncertainty is understood to have alerted Utrecht, who are looking to add attacking depth ahead of the new Eredivisie campaign.
Capable of operating predominantly as an attacking left winger and comfortable with both feet, Mmadi has been progressing through the Olympique de Marseille set-up and featuring for the club’s B side. He represents Marseille’s reserve team at national-team level designation, being listed with “Olympique de Marseille B” as his current side.
In one of his most recent outings for Marseille B, in late June 2026 against a regional reserve opponent, he featured in a narrow win, contributing with his direct running and wide play in a low-scoring game that underlined his role as a line-hugging winger rather than a pure goalscorer. That performance has reportedly helped maintain interest in his development, even if he is yet to break through at senior Ligue 1 level.
Holding dual nationality with France and Comoros, Mmadi offers Utrecht potential resale value as well as versatility in wide attacking roles. Should the move materialise, a step into the Eredivisie could provide a significant platform for the 19-year-old to accelerate his career and test his reputation in a top European league.
