USM Alger has reinforced its squad with the return of right-back Haïthem Loucif, who rejoins the club after a stint in Switzerland.
The Algerian side officially announced the signing on Wednesday, marking Loucif’s comeback as he looks to revive his form.
The 28-year-old defender initially moved to Yverdon Sport in 2023 before being loaned to Lausanne-Sport. However, injuries hampered his progress, limiting him to just four appearances this season. With playing time scarce, Loucif opted for a return to USMA despite interest from JS Kabylie and CR Belouizdad.
His arrival is expected to strengthen USM Alger’s defensive setup as the team prepares for both domestic and continental challenges.
A three-time Algeria international, Loucif has not featured for the national team since June 2023. His return to Algeria could provide him with the platform to regain his rhythm and potentially earn a recall from head coach Vladimir Petković.
