Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen continued his impressive form in front of goal on Friday evening, scoring to seal a 2-0 win for Galatasaray against Samsunspor in the Turkish Super Lig.
The host, Samsunspor, thought they had taken an early lead in the 9th minute, but celebrations were short-lived. Referee Ozan Ergun signaled for a VAR review to check for a possible offside in the build-up. After a brief delay, the goal was disallowed for offside.
Just five minutes later, Galatasaray capitalized on their momentum. Yunus Akgun reacted quickly to a loose ball in the box and rifled a shot into the top of the net to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
After the break, Galatasaray struck again. In the 47th minute, Yunus Akgun turned provider, slipping a well-timed through ball to Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian star made no mistake, firing confidently into the middle of the net to seal the victory at 2-0.
