Union Saint-Gilloise have begun formal discussions with Algerian international Adem Zorgane as they prepare for the possible exit of rising star Noah Sadiki.
The Belgian champions are hoping to reinforce their midfield ahead of next season’s UEFA Champions League campaign.
Zorgane, currently under contract with Charleroi until 2027, has made no secret of his intention to move on this summer.
“I would be lying to you if I told you that I wanted to stay next season,” he told DH Les Sports+. “Four years is enough. It was not in my initial plan. I wanted to leave at the end of the first year.”
The 25-year-old midfielder, capped 20 times by Algeria and with one international goal to his name, has been a central figure at Charleroi since his arrival from Paradou AC in 2021.
His technical ability and vision have attracted interest from several top Belgian clubs, with Union Saint-Gilloise emerging as a serious contender for his signature.
Union are reportedly keen to secure Zorgane’s services to prepare for a possible midfield reshuffle, especially with Sadiki drawing attention from foreign suitors.
Discussions between Union’s management and the player’s representatives were initiated earlier this week, though no formal negotiations have yet begun between the clubs, according to DH Les Sports+.
Zorgane’s ambition to compete at the highest level could work in Union’s favour.
The lure of Champions League football may prove decisive as he considers his next move.
His consistency in the Belgian Pro League has only strengthened his appeal, with this past season seeing him feature in 41 matches, scoring once and providing six assists.
Royal Antwerp is also monitoring the situation closely.

The former Belgian champions, known for their robust recruitment strategy, have expressed interest in the Sétif-born midfielder.
While no offer has been tabled yet, Antwerp’s interest underscores Zorgane’s growing value in the domestic market.
Despite being tied to a long-term contract, Charleroi are reportedly open to letting the player leave, having granted him an exit voucher.
With interest intensifying and the player keen for a new challenge, a deal could be reached in the coming weeks as Belgium’s top sides move quickly to secure reinforcements before the start of European qualifiers.
