Wydad Athletic Club head coach Rulani Mokwena has made an announcement regarding his personal life amidst the Red Castle’s struggles.
The South African coach has come under intense pressure from the fans on social media due to the poor run of form of the club.
Amidst all these factors, the 38-year-old gaffer released a strongly worded statement indicating that he would take a break from social media in the upcoming weeks.
“Dear Friends, I hope this message finds you in well and in blessed spirits. I wanted to take a moment to share some personal reflections and inform you of an important decision I’ve made,” Mokwena stated.
“In the coming weeks, I will be stepping away from social media to embark on a period of digital detox and reflection. This time away will not only serve as a mental and spiritual rejuvenation but will also allow me to focus wholeheartedly on the final sprint of my current endeavors.
“Disconnecting from the digital world, even briefly, can offer profound benefits to one’s mental clarity and emotional well-being, fostering a deeper connection with oneself and the world around us,” explained the former Mamelodi Sundowns mentor.
“Please know that this decision comes from a place of gratitude and humility. I am incredibly thankful for all the love, support, and positive energy that you have continuously extended towards me. Your encouragement has been a source of strength, and I carry it with me as I undertake this journey towards greater mindfulness and focus,” he added.
“Though I will temporarily be unable to engage with you online, please understand that my appreciation for your support remains boundless. I look forward to reconnecting soon, refreshed and re-energized, ready to embrace new challenges and opportunities. Thank you once again for your understanding and unwavering support with sincere gratitude.”
Mokwena and his charges will aim to return to winning form when Wydad square off against AS FAR Rabat in the Round of 16 of the Moroccan Throne Cup on Friday night.
