Wydad Athletic Club has reconvened for preparations ahead of their quarterfinal clash against Moghreb Tetouan in the Throne Cup.
The match will take place on Saturday at the Saniat Rmel Stadium, with a 18:00 GMT kick-off.
Under mounting pressure, Wydad will be aiming to secure a crucial victory.
Head coach Rulani Mokwena, who is under intense scrutiny as he fights to keep his position, is focused on getting his players in peak condition for the upcoming game.
Mokwena has addressed the team, stressing the importance of maintaining the strong record shared by Wydad and Renaissance Berkane, who both boast an impressive four-month unbeaten streak.
It’s important to note that Wydad’s last defeat came on December 28, in a league match against Maghreb de Fes.
Mokwena also pointed out that Wydad hasn’t been beaten at their rivals’ stadium since 2014, encouraging his players to continue that unbeaten run when they face Tetouan this Saturday.
With no other major title left to pursue domestically, the Throne Cup remains Wydad’s final chance to salvage their season.
