Mali face Guinea at 16:00 tonight in the final Group B match of the UFOA A U17 tournament, with the two sides heading into the decisive fixture in very different positions.
Guinea’s Syli National cadets are bottom of the group without a point and must win to keep alive their hopes of ending the competition on a positive note. They face a Mali side that has traditionally been a formidable opponent at this age level.
The Aiglons have one point after drawing with group leaders Liberia and know victory would strengthen their position and secure their place in the final four.
Mali have impressed with a solid and opportunistic approach and are clear favourites going into the match. Guinea, however, will hope to produce a response under pressure and cause an upset in the derby.
The result will bring the group stage to a close and determine whether Mali can confirm their qualification or Guinea can rescue their campaign with a first win.
