West Ham enter battle with AC Milan for Nigerian midfield star Raphael Onyedika

Nigerian international Raphael Onyedika was on target for Club Brugge on Thursday evening, helping the team to secure a huge 4-1 win against AS Monaco in the UEFA Champions League.

The Belgian side dominated proceedings from the start, with Nicolo Tresoldi opening the scoring in the 32nd minute after a determined run and finish into the bottom left corner, assisted by Hans Vanaken.

Just seven minutes later, Onyedika doubled the lead with a composed strike from inside the box after receiving a well-placed pass from Carlos Forbs. His quick decision-making left the Monaco goalkeeper with no chance.

Club Brugge continued their attacking momentum, and Vanaken added a third in the 43rd minute with a powerful first-time shot into the top right corner.

In the second half, Mamadou Diakhon made it 4–0 in the 75th minute, finishing calmly after being set up by Joaquin Seys.

AS Monaco managed a late consolation goal in stoppage time, with Ansu Fati converting a cut-back from Takumi Minamino to make it 4–1.

Club Brugge’s victory puts them in a strong position in the group phase of the UEFA Champions League, although it’s only the first match of the 2025/26 campaign.
