UCL: Lamine Yamal back in Barcelona training ahead of second leg of Newcastle tie amid injury concerns

Lamine Yamal and Eric Garcia have returned to team sessions at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper on Monday after Barcelona’s convincing triumph over Sevilla, though both players are still working to regain full fitness, according to Diario Sport.

Both players participated in the session but have not yet reached full intensity. Yamal, who played only 25 minutes against Sevilla, completed a more demanding training session with reserve players, including Ronald Araújo, Ferran Torres, and new signing Marcus Rashford.

Eric Garcia rejoined the squad after recovering from a muscle strain that had sidelined him for the first leg against Newcastle United and a recent league fixture.

While the regular starters remained in the gym for recovery work, Yamal and Garcia focused on preparing for Wednesday’s crucial second-leg clash at Camp Nou, following a 1-1 draw in the first leg. Both are expected to be available for selection, though they are not yet at full match fitness.

Barcelona will continue to be without Andreas Christensen, Frenkie de Jong, Jules Koundé, and Alejandro Balde for the upcoming fixture.
