Hayatou expressed his admiration for the team’s intelligence and qualities, highlighting that their display in the quarter-final against Uruguay was impressive despite the absence of some injured players.
He conveyed a message of support, stating that the African football family is behind them and expressing confidence in their ability to reach the final. Nigeria’s U-17 team, known as the Golden Eagles, faces Sweden in the semi-finals with the opportunity to secure a place in the final. Nigeria has a strong history in the U-17 World Cup, having won the trophy three times previously.
