Tyrique George: Everton eye Chelseas AngloNigerian winger in 20m-rated move
Everton are being linked with a move for Chelseas England and Nigeriaeligible left winger Tyrique George, 20, who has just returned to Stamford Bridge from a loan spell at Goodison Park.
The Londonborn attacker, listed with a market value of 20.00m on Transfermarkt, spent the second half of the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Everton before his return on 30 June 2026 at the end of that deal. Fresh reports on 5 July indicate Everton are exploring the possibility of bringing him back, although the probability of a transfer is currently marked only as ?.
George, 1.81m tall and rightfooted, was promoted from Chelseas academy sides to the first team in December 2024 after progressing through the clubs youth, Under18 and Under21 ranks. His rapid rise has been reflected in his valuation, which climbed from 1m in February 2025 to 22m by December that year before being set at 20m during his loan at Everton in June 2026.
During that loan spell, George featured in Evertons Premier League campaign, including a lateseason meeting against Chelsea at Goodison Park in April 2026, when the Merseyside club were pushing for vital points. He featured on the left flank in a tight contest, with the match underlining his familiarity with both clubs tactical demands, although no official detailed statistics from that fixture are provided in the current data.
With no public record of a contract expiry date at Chelsea, there is no indication that George is close to becoming a free agent, and any move would be expected to involve a fee rather than a free transfer. Evertons interest, however, underlines how highly his development is regarded after his first sustained exposure to Premier League football.
If a deal can be struck, a permanent switch to Merseyside would offer George a defined role at topflight level and a significant stage on which to refine his reputation as one of the most promising wide forwards of his age group.
