‘Two of our scouts are there’ – Mido confirms Zamalek monitoring U-17 AFCON talents
A member of Zamalek’s planning committee, Ahmed Hossam Mido, has announced that the club has dispatched two scouts to monitor emerging talents at the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) currently underway in Morocco.
Many explosive talents like Burkina Faso’s Lookman Tapsoba have already emerged from the tournament and are set for stardom.
This tournament, featuring the Egyptian national team, is scheduled to run until April 19.
Mido’s statement came in response to a fan’s concern on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) about the club’s absence at the youth competition.
He clarified, “Two members of our scouting team are there.”
The Egyptian U-17 squad includes three players from Zamalek: goalkeeper Omar Abdelaziz, defender Moaz Fawzy, and midfielder Mohamed Hamd.
Their participation highlights Zamalek’s contribution to the national team’s youth development efforts.
The U-17 AFCON serves as a platform for young players to showcase their skills on an international stage, and Zamalek’s proactive scouting underscores the club’s commitment to nurturing future talent.
