Algerian international footballer Youcef Atal is poised to depart from French club OGC Nice officially, heading towards the Turkish league, according to reports from French media outlets.
The newspaper “Onze Mondial,” citing Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, disclosed that Atal has packed his belongings in anticipation of leaving Nice.
The same source clarified that the destination for the Algerian player will be the Turkish Süper Lig, through the gateway of Adana Demirspor.
It was pointed out that the graduate of the Athlétique Parades school is expected today, Friday, in the Turkish city of Adana, to undergo a medical examination and to officially sign his contract to join Adana Demirspor.
The winter transfer window in Turkey ends this evening, and Atal has chosen to depart for Adana Demirspor, seeking relief from the pressure he faced in France since his support for the Palestinian cause, which has escalated into a serious matter.
Due to this incident, the management of Nice decided to exclude the Algerian international from the team’s matches despite the end of the suspension imposed on him by the disciplinary committee of the French league, which was for “suspension for 7 matches,” prompting him to leave six months before the end of his contract.
