Kaizer Chiefs FC is undergoing significant transformations as they prepare to appoint Nasreddine Nabi as their new head coach, according to AfricaSoccer.com.
The Tunisian tactician gained recognition after achieving impressive success with Young Africans SC in Tanzania, securing consecutive domestic trebles in June 2023.
Initial discussions between Chiefs and Nabi were unsuccessful due to the team’s initial reluctance to meet his technical team requirements.
Consequently, Molefi Ntseki was appointed head coach, with Cavin Johnson assuming the role of Head of Youth.
However, Chiefs finished the season with their lowest ever position in the South African Premier League under Ntseki’s leadership.
After a seven-month search, Chiefs have reconsidered and are now willing to meet Nabi’s demands.
A delegation was sent to Morocco to negotiate terms, as Nabi was also sought after by Gulf interests.
Nabi’s accomplishments at AS FAR Rabat in Morocco, where he led the team to a record-breaking second place finish in the Botola Pro League, further solidified his reputation.
Although he narrowly missed the title by one point to Josef Zinnbauer’s Raja Athletic Club, Nabi became a revered figure among AS FAR fans.
With Raja and AS FAR still competing for the Throne Cup, Nabi is expected to join Chiefs after the semi-final match on June 23
