Tunisian midfielder Ferjani Sassi, playing for Al Gharafa, has emphasized that his team lost valuable points by drawing against Al Sadd (2-2) in the match held today as part of the 16th round of the Qatari League.

Speaking to reporters after the match, Sassi stated, “We entered the game aiming to win and secure the three points, but we failed to do so.

I believe we lost two points with this draw.”

He added, “Despite the absences we’ve faced in many matches, Al Gharafa performed well.

We always say that the team is composed of those who are present, and indeed, everyone who played in the match did their best.”

The Tunisian star pointed out that the pressure has increased with several teams competing for the top spot alongside Al Sadd, including Al Gharafa, Al Rayyan, and Al Wakrah.

“We are looking forward to better performances in the coming period to compensate for the points we lost today,” he expressed.

Regarding the loss of five points against Al Sadd in the current season’s matches, Sassi commented, “In the first-leg match, we were not at our best and suffered a significant defeat.

However, today, we made an effort, came close to winning, and managed to equalize twice after falling behind.

Ultimately, we played against a great team like Al Sadd and did not suffer a defeat.”
