Tunisian referees have been appointed to oversee this weekend’s highly anticipated CAF Champions League second-round return match between South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns and Eswatini’s Mbabane Swallows.

Scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 21, at 17:00 local time, the match will be crucial as both teams vie for a place in the next phase of the prestigious African competition.

Leading the officiating team for this encounter will be Tunisian referee Sadok Selmi. Known for his experience and firm approach, Selmi will be in charge of maintaining discipline and ensuring a fair contest on the field.

He will be supported by two assistant referees from Tunisia, Wael Hannachi and Mohamed Bakir, who will assist in ensuring that all crucial decisions regarding offsides and set pieces are accurate.

Nidhal Letaief, also from Tunisia, has been appointed as the fourth official for the match, ready to step in if needed.

The appointment of an entirely Tunisian officiating team underscores the importance of this encounter, as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) aims to ensure top-quality refereeing in critical fixtures.

Mamelodi Sundowns, one of the top clubs in African football, will be looking to secure their place in the next round of the competition, while Mbabane Swallows will hope to pull off a major upset.

With both teams coming into the return leg after a competitive first match, the stage is set for an intense and thrilling encounter at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria.

The outcome of this match could be pivotal for both teams as they aim to make further progress in the CAF Champions League, Africa’s premier club football tournament.

The pressure is on, and all eyes will be on the Tunisian refereeing team to ensure a smooth and fair contest.
