US Monastir and ES Tunis each secured crucial 1-0 victories on Sunday to maintain their shared lead at the top of the Tunisian Ligue 1 table after Matchday 26.
Monastir, currently leading on goal difference, edged bottom-placed US Tataouine in a tightly contested fixture away from home.
The solitary goal was enough to keep them level on points with rivals ES Tunis, who also claimed a narrow win against EGS Gafsa at the Stade Olympique de Radès.
With both clubs locked on 56 points, the title race continues to intensify, with just four rounds of league action remaining.
Goal difference currently separates the two sides, with US Monastir narrowly ahead in the standings.
Elsewhere, Club Africain stayed within striking distance of the top two thanks to a hard-fought 2-1 away win over ES Métlaoui.
They remain third with 53 points, while Étoile du Sahel’s 2-1 victory against US Ben Guerdane kept them in fourth place on 51 points.
Sunday also saw a goal-filled clash in Bizerte, where CA Bizertin overpowered JS Omrane 4-1.
That victory moved them up to ninth in the standings on 29 points.
Meanwhile, AS Soliman narrowly edged Olympique de Béja 1-0, earning three vital points in their battle to avoid relegation.
In Gabès, AS Gabès boosted their survival hopes with a 2-0 win over ES Zarzis, while Stade Tunisien and CS Sfaxien played out a 1-1 draw, keeping both sides firmly mid-table.
With four matches remaining, the fight for both the title and survival promises to go down to the wire.
