Tunisia’s National Professional Football League has imposed a series of financial penalties and suspensions on several Ligue 1 clubs and officials after reviewing incidents from the 17th and 18th rounds of matches.

In a statement released on Thursday, the league confirmed that Espérance de Tunis received the heaviest sanction, with the club fined a total of 20,000 dinars.

The decision follows disciplinary assessments linked to recent league fixtures, as the governing body continues efforts to enforce regulations and maintain order across the competition.

Stade Tunisien was also handed a significant punishment, receiving a fine of 10,000 dinars.

Club Sportif Sfaxien was penalised slightly less, with the league imposing a fine of 9,000 dinars.

Both sanctions were included in a broader list of disciplinary measures announced after the latest round of league matches.

Further penalties were issued to Etoile Sportive du Sahel and Club Africain, who will each be required to pay 7,500 dinars.

Olympique de Béja was fined 5,500 dinars, while Union Sportive Monastirienne received a fine of 3,000 dinars, the lowest financial sanction among the clubs listed.

In addition to club fines, the league confirmed suspensions for two coaches following disciplinary breaches.

AS Marsa head coach Ameur Derbal has been banned from the bench for three matches and fined 10,000 dinars.

The sanction was imposed after he protested against the referee during a match and was subsequently sent off.

Former Etoile du Sahel coach Mohamed Mekacher has also been punished, receiving a two-match suspension alongside a fine of 5,000 dinars.

The league did not issue further details beyond confirming the disciplinary outcome.

The National Professional Football League stated that the sanctions form part of its ongoing review process after each round of fixtures.

League officials regularly examine reports from match officials and disciplinary committees before issuing penalties.

The latest decisions underline the league’s stance on enforcing discipline during the season, with both clubs and technical staff reminded of their responsibilities under competition regulations.

As the Ligue 1 campaign continues, the governing body is expected to maintain close oversight of conduct on and off the pitch.
