Tunisian giants Espérance Sportive de Tunis have extended the contract of influential Nigeria midfielder Onuche Ogbelu.
The 22-year-old, whose previosu contract was due to expire in 2026, will now remain at the club until June 2028. The extension reflects the club’s full confidence in one of their most promising young stars ahead of a crucial season.
Ogbelu has established himself as a staple in Esperance’s midfield, making 53 appearances since joining the club from Nigeria’s Fosla Academy in September 2023.
Since his arrival, the enterprising midfielder has won two Tunisian Ligue 1 title, one Tunisian Cup and one Tunisian Super Cup respectively.
His most memorable moment occurred when he defeated Club Sportif de la Médina de Tunis by scoring the game-winning goal with a rocket from outside the box in the Tunisian Cup final. His reputation as a big-game performer was further solidified by that performance.
Espérance acted swiftly to secure his future, especially with growing interest in the Nigerian rising star from other African and European clubs.
