The Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) has issued a directive to all Ligue 1 clubs, urging them to resolve outstanding financial obligations by December 31, 2024.
The move is part of broader efforts to ensure financial stability and compliance within Tunisian football.
In an official statement, the FTF warned clubs of potential consequences if debts remain unpaid.
Sanctions include restrictions or outright bans on player recruitment during the upcoming winter transfer window, scheduled to open on January 2, 2025, and close on January 31, 2025.
Additionally, the federation emphasized that eligibility for licenses to participate in African competitions, overseen by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), would be contingent on the settlement of these financial obligations by the end of the current season.
To further enforce accountability, clubs must notify the FTF of their progress in resolving financial disputes no later than March 31, 2024.
Failure to meet this deadline could result in further disciplinary actions, which could impact their operations and competitive participation.
This initiative reflects the federation’s commitment to fostering financial discipline among clubs and ensuring the integrity of the league.
The FTF’s firm stance underscores the importance of resolving disputes promptly to avoid disruptions during crucial periods like transfer windows and CAF competitions.
As the deadline looms, clubs will need to address their financial challenges swiftly to remain compliant and avoid jeopardizing their standing within the league and beyond.
