Tunisian Football Federation secretary general Wajdi Al-Awadi extends heartfelt gesture of compassion to injured Mauritanian player

Wajdi Al-Awadi, the Secretary General of the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF), concluded the Mauritania national football team’s preparatory camp in Tunisia with a meaningful courtesy visit following their friendly match against FC Yverdon.

As the preparatory camp reached its conclusion, the Mauritanian delegation received the esteemed Secretary General, Wajdi Al-Awadi, at their meeting place in Tabarka.

This encounter transcended the conventional boundaries of a protocol exchange, as it was underscored by a heartfelt gesture of compassion directed towards Abdallahi Mahmoud.

Mahmoud had recently suffered a broken left arm during a friendly clash between Mauritania and Tunisia.

In light of the unfortunate incident during the match, Wajdi Al-Awadi chose to extend a symbolic apology to the injured player, expressing his sincere regret for the incident that led to Mahmoud’s injury.

The Secretary General marked his visit with a poignant gesture, presenting a bouquet of flowers to Abdallahi Mahmoud, coupled with warm wishes for a swift and complete recovery.

Beyond the competitive dynamics of football, the meeting served as a testament to the spirit of unity and goodwill that defines the sporting fraternity.

Al-Awadi’s gesture exemplifies the ethos of camaraderie that binds nations, even in the face of on-field challenges.

As the Mauritania national team concludes their preparatory camp, they carry with them not only the lessons learned on the pitch but also the memory of a compassionate and considerate gesture from their Tunisian counterparts, reinforcing the belief that football fosters connections that extend beyond the realm of competition.
