Tunisia to take on Brazil in November friendly in Lille

Tunisia will play Brazil in a high-profile international friendly next month in Lille, France, as part of the Selecão’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Tunisia will also use the game as a preparation for both the World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations in December.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) announced that Carlo Ancelotti’s side will end their 2025 calendar with two matches in Europe — against Senegal on November 15 at the Emirates Stadium in London and against Tunisia three days later at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille.

According to the CBF, the games are designed to provide Brazil with valuable experience against African opposition ahead of next year’s tournament in North America.

The fixtures come after October’s encounters against Asian sides, which saw Brazil beat South Korea 5-0 before suffering a surprise defeat to Japan.

With limited preparation time since taking over in May, Ancelotti is using the matches to expose his team to varied tactical challenges before finalizing his World Cup squad.

The CBF indicated that Brazil’s next friendlies, scheduled for March 2026, will likely be against top European nations in the United States.

The November fixtures are also expected to help the coaching staff assess player performances and make final tactical adjustments before next year’s competition.

Brazil’s clash with Senegal will rekindle a growing rivalry after the 2021 African champions defeated them 4-2 in a friendly in Lisbon two years ago.

Tunisia, meanwhile, head into the match in strong form, having secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup.

Renowned for their disciplined defending and tactical structure, Tunisia are expected to pose a stern challenge to Ancelotti’s side.
