Tunisia has outlined a series of four international friendlies as part of its preparation for the 2026 World Cup, aiming to test the “Eagles of Carthage” against diverse opponents before the tournament kicks off in North America.

The Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) confirmed on Tuesday that the national team will face Haiti, Canada, Austria, and Belgium in matches scheduled between March and June 2026.

The fixtures are designed to expose the squad to different playing styles and conditions ahead of the global competition.

The preparatory campaign will begin in Toronto, Canada, with Tunisia taking on Haiti on 28 March.

Three days later, the team will remain in Toronto to play one of the World Cup host nations, Canada, in a fixture the FTF described as “a match that promises to be rich in tactical insights.”

These opening games in North America are intended to help the players adapt to the local climate and time zone ahead of the tournament.

Tunisia will then travel to Europe for two further friendlies in June. On 1 June, the team will face Austria in Vienna, providing the coaching staff with an opportunity to evaluate the squad’s performance against a disciplined and physically robust European side.

The final match of the preparation tour will take place on 6 June in Brussels against Belgium, offering a high-profile test against one of Europe’s top teams.

“The aim is to arrive at the World Cup fully prepared, having challenged ourselves against a variety of playing styles,” said the FTF. This carefully planned schedule reflects Tunisia’s ambition to enter the tournament in peak form, with the World Cup set to run from 11 June to 19 July across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

By facing opponents from North America and Europe, Tunisia hopes to sharpen tactical awareness, build cohesion, and measure its readiness for the challenges of the World Cup.

The program also highlights the federation’s strategic approach to international preparation, combining acclimatization and competitive intensity in one comprehensive tour.
