Tunisia face Burkina Faso in first of three friendly matches

Tunisia’s national football team is set to take on Burkina Faso this Monday in the first of three international friendlies scheduled for the month of June.

The match will kick off at 18:30 local time at the Hamadi Agrebi Stadium in Rades.

This encounter marks the Carthage Eagles’ return to the pitch following their 2-0 win over Malawi in March, a result that bolstered their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

The friendly against Burkina Faso offers head coach Sami Trabelsi a critical opportunity to assess his squad ahead of a busy competitive schedule later this year and into 2026.

In addition to today’s match, Tunisia will also play Morocco on 6 June and Zambia on 10 June. These fixtures form a crucial part of the team’s preparations for several upcoming tournaments, including the continuation of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in September and October, the Arab Cup of Nations scheduled for December 2025, and the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations set to take place between December 2025 and January 2026.

Trabelsi has named a comprehensive 28-man squad for this international window, blending youth and experience in a bid to test various tactical approaches and player combinations.

The selected players represent both domestic and international clubs and cover a wide range of skill sets across the pitch.

In goal, the team will rely on the talents of Aymen Dahmene, Sami Helal, Noureddine Farhati, and Abdessalem Hlaoui.

The defensive line includes Yan Valéry, Mahmoud Ghorbel, Hsan Romdhane, Montassar Talbi, Alaeddine Ghram, Dylan Bronn, Marouane Sahraoui, Ali Abdi, and Amine Cherni.

The midfield boasts a mix of creativity and control, featuring Aïssa Bilal Laïdouni, Ferjani Sassi, Hannibal Mejbri, Firas Belarbi, Moez Haj Ali, Mortadha Ben Ouannes, and Elias Ben Slimane.

Up front, Tunisia has called upon a variety of attacking options. Elias Achouri, Sayfallah Ltaief, Sebastian Tounekti, Hamza Khadhraoui, Khalil Ayari, Hazem Mastouri, Firas Chaouat, and Youssef Snana are all available to provide firepower and attacking depth.

With Burkina Faso providing the first test, Tunisia will look to establish rhythm and confidence early in the international window.

While friendly in nature, these matches are expected to carry significant weight in shaping the team’s strategic outlook and player selection heading into more competitive fixtures.

The Carthage Eagles are aiming to solidify their standing on the continental stage and secure a place at the next World Cup.

Tunisia For coach Trabelsi, these three friendlies offer a vital platform to evaluate talent, implement tactical schemes, and refine team chemistry ahead of high-stakes encounters to come.

Tonight’s clash against Burkina Faso promises not only to reignite Tunisia’s campaign but also to signal the beginning of an intense and pivotal phase in their international journey.
