Trésor Mputu, the talented footballer, has caused a stir with the recent unveiling ceremony featuring the jersey of Angolan club Kabuscorp. However, the leaders of Tout Puissant Mazembe have remained calm and unruffled, seemingly untroubled by the potential transfer of their star player. Contrary to the grand announcement, recent information on the official website of the Congolese club indicates that Mputu has returned to Lubumbashi to resume training with TP Mazembe for the second phase of the championship in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In a statement on RTNC (Radio Télévision nationale du Congo), Mputu clarified the situation, revealing that his visit to Angola in late December was merely to inspect the Kabuscorp facilities and not to sign a contract. He emphasized that he remains a Mazembe player, and he is currently in Kinshasa with his family for the holidays.
According to additional information, Mputu, who left under unusual circumstances, has now returned to engage in discussions with TP Mazembe’s president, Moïse Katumbi. The resolution of this situation hinges on whether the affluent owner of TP Mazembe will accept Mputu’s request. While keeping the possibility open, Katumbi stated, “Mputu is a great player. If he has to leave, it will be in due form, according to the rules.” The future of this talented player remains uncertain as negotiations continue.
