Trésor Mputu: Official, Congolese Star Departs Kabuscorp

Trésor Mputu Confirms Departure from Kabuscorp Amid Salary Disputes, Returns to Mazembe

Trésor Mputu, the talented Congolese midfielder, has officially confirmed his departure from Angolan club Kabuscorp after a series of salary disputes. The former Leopards star made the announcement during a press interview in Lubumbashi this weekend, citing non-payment of several salaries as the primary reason for his exit.

Mputu, who has been a key figure in Congolese football for years, dismissed rumors that his departure was due to indiscipline, stating that he was not the only player facing such financial challenges at Kabuscorp. “I am not the only one in this situation. Bedi Mbenza returned to Kinshasa for the same reasons. Kabuscorp owes him $100,000,” Mputu explained, shedding light on the ongoing issues within the Angolan club.

Now back in Lubumbashi, Mputu has returned to his roots, training with his beloved Tout Puissant Mazembe, the club where he made his name and enjoyed significant success. However, the midfielder emphasized that his future decisions will depend on the instructions of Moïse Katumbi, the president of Mazembe, whom he holds in the highest regard.

“I am first in Mazembe. I am known thanks to Mazembe. I do not decide before my president Moïse Katumbi says something. Whatever he says, I will do. What Moïse Katumbi says, I cannot change,” Mputu added, leaving the door open for his return to Mazembe or another potential career move.

Mputu’s departure from Kabuscorp marks the end of his time in Angola, and with his strong connection to Mazembe, his next steps will likely be closely tied to the club’s plans for the future.
