Mohamed Sissoko linked with Bundesliga switch as Hannover eyes midfield reinforcement
Berlin, 17 May 2025
Malian international Mohamed Sissoko could be set for a fresh start in the Bundesliga, with Hannover reportedly interested in signing the experienced midfielder.
According to German outlet Bild, Hannover are considering Sissoko as a replacement for Salif Sané, who is expected to leave the club this summer. The 29-year-old former Paris Saint-Germain player is currently at Spanish side Levante but has struggled to find consistent form since leaving the French capital in 2013.
Sissoko, who has previously played in Ligue 1, the Premier League, Serie A, and La Liga, is no stranger to Europe’s top leagues. His physical presence and experience could provide a boost to Hannover’s midfield as the club reshapes its squad ahead of the new season.
No official talks have been confirmed, but reports suggest a deal could be on the horizon if terms are agreed in the coming weeks.
